After being made redundant a couple of years ago, Tony decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an accomplished, recognised and published photographer with his own photography studio. In 2011 he began studying for a Foundation Degree in Commercial Photography at Newcastle College.
Tony demonstrated a wide range of areas of interest and skill including urban exploration, city land and seascapes, studio and glamour shoots as well as a wide and eclectic mix of contemporary subjects.
Tony spent time to explain how he managed to achieve various effects in his studio by the imaginative use of lighting, costume and props.
Following the presentation, Tony hosted a busy and at times hectic questions and answers session where he explained what subjects inspire him and how he likes to look at subjects in a different way, looking for unusual and unique ways to express himself through his photography.
He also expressed a willingness to share his knowledge and skills with fellow members of the club and give them the opportunity to experiment with different techniques and types of photography, including subject matter that perhaps they had not considered previously.
These are exciting times for the club as membership numbers steadily rise and new opportunities open for the club to develop and grow in size and levels of expertise.
