After photographing the Millennium Bridge we worked our way along the south bank photographing the Sage Gateshead, graffiti ridden walls, St Mary’s Square and St Mary’s Church, The Tyne Bridge and continuing onto Half Moon Street and onto the High Level Bridge where we photographed some amazing views of the Swing Bridge and along the River Tyne.
We arrived on the North bank of the River Tyne via St Nicholas Street and turned down towards the Quayside photographing the Newcastle Keep, Black Gate and the Dog Leap Stairs and eventually arriving back on the Quayside where the Sunday market was in full flow and a number of people photographs were taken.
The Quayside was once an industrial area and busy commercial dockside but in recent years the docks became run-down and the area has been heavily redeveloped to provide a modern environment for the modern art, music and culture, as well as an area I would call a playground for all photographers to create something beautiful.
I know a portly,alcoholic, transvestite photographer.
All he wants to do is eat, drink and be Mary.
