Dave stepped up to the oche and shared the images he had captured exclusively with his shiny new Canon SX50. He demonstrated through his varied and eclectic images just how far bridge cameras have developed and improved in recent years and now have the potential to one day challenge the supremacy of the DSLR.
As a side issue, this generated a great deal of discussion of the future of photography and the advantages and disadvantages of using both systems.
Other members then took their opportunity to share their images, displaying a wide and varied range of subject matter and techniques, including HDR, Macro, people at work, and not forgetting the fantastic steam engines.
Finally, Alan topped off the evening with a clever, imaginative and hilarious audio visual presentation in which he demonstrated not only his photographic ability and keen sense of humour, but also his animation skills. Watch out Aardman Animations.
