The Member's Choice Competition 2012 - Results
September 13th brought about the second year of West Moor's "Member's Choice" competition. Each member of the club was allowed to submit 3 printed images up to A4 size and of any subject. These images would then be displayed anonymously to the rest of the members, who were requested to chose what they felt to be the best 5 and rank them in order, 1st - 5th. A first place would gain the image 5 points, down to 1 point for a 5th placing.
16 images were submitted, slightly down on last year but with 4 members away that could only be expected. The night didn't get off to the best of starts when it was realised that 3 of the images were larger than A4 size and were therefore instantly ruled out. As with last year, it quickly became clear that selecting 5 from the remaining 13 wasn't going to be an easy task for those present. Much deliberation went on, with plenty of movement up and down the line of images as each one was pondered over. Finally, all the voting slips were in and David and Garvin then had the task of counting up the votes.
Once the count was done, it became clear that there were 3 images which had been favoured as 2 of them had been voted for by everyone present, while the 3rd missed out on one vote. For the 2nd year running, 1st place went to David Brennan with Alan Thompson picking up both the 2nd and 3rd places for the first time.
